Excess Baggage
Even though Air India Express is a budget airline, it offers free baggage allowance unlike many other budget airlines. Air India Express offers two types of tickets – Express VALUE ticket and Express FLEXI ticket. Based on the ticket that you buy, you have a free baggage allowance of 25kg, 30kg, or 35kg.
- Hand Baggage Allowance – You can carry one hand luggage having a maximum weight of 7 kg and dimensions of 56cm x 36 cm x 23 cm including pockets, handle, and wheels.
- Check-in Baggage Allowance – You can carry as many check-in bags as you want, provided they are within the allowed weight limit that can be 25kg, 30kg, or 35 kg, based on the ticket you have purchased. The dimensions should be within 158 cm (L+H+W).
Any excess baggage will be charged; however, there is no fixed amount. The exact excess baggage fees will be determined only when you check-in your luggage. In some cases, you may also be charged a handling fee. You can save your time and money by buying excess baggage online in the slabs of 5 kg and 10 kg. You can either buy this while booking your ticket or you may do it later via My Booking option.
Choose Your Seat
With Air India Express, you have the option to choose your seat in advance. In order to get the best seat of your choice, it is advised to book your preferred seat while booking your ticket itself. This will ensure that you are not disappointed later on as your preferred seat may not be available later. You should book your seats in advance if you want the seats of all the members (family/friends) traveling with you together and/or you want some extra leg space, or you want a window/aisle seat, etc. You can choose your preferred seat up to 24 hours prior to your departure.

Even though Air India Express is a budget airline, it offers complimentary tea/coffee and snacks on board unlike the other low-cost carriers. Apart from the complimentary services, one can also pre-order their meal up to 24 hours prior to the departure of their flight. Some of the delectable meal sets include a Veg Breakfast containing Tomato Rawa Upma, Mini Pepper Vada, Sambar, Tomato Chutney, and Cut Fruits that are served along with tea/coffee and bottled water. The Non-Veg Breakfast meal set includes Parotta/Paranthas, Chicken Roast and Cut Fruits, served with bottled water and tea/coffee. Online Visa for UAE

Applying for online UAE visa through Air India Express will ensure that your visa application gets processed seamlessly within the timeline and get a speedy clearance.
There are a few factors, such as nationality, purpose of the duration of the visit, etc., which need to be specified to obtain a visa. Below are some of the guidelines and rules associated with a UAE visa:
- A copy of the visa applicant’s passport is required and all the details should be clearly visible.
- Both male and female travelers have age limits:
- Females who are 30 – 63 years old and males who are 19 – 68 years can travel alone.
- Females who are 12 – 29 years old should be accompanied by parents or husband and males who are 0 – 18 years should be accompanied by parents.
- Girls who are 0 – 11 years old should be accompanied by parents.
- One passport size photograph with white background is required.
- The passport copy should be in JPEG format and the file size should be less than 1 MB.
- Supporting document, such as proof of relation (birth certificate/marriage certificate) translated to Arabic or English should be provided attested by the Ministry of UAE.
- Request for additional documents required would be sent via email.
- The UAE visa will be valid only for 60 days.
- Travelers should carry a copy of the visa along with their flight tickets.
- People visiting UAE with a Visit Visa are not eligible to work in UAE.
- If you are applying for UAE visa from UAE, such as to renew your visa, you will have to visit the Air India Express office in UAE.
- If you are applying for a UAE visa from India, you can do it online.
A UAE visa needs at least three to six days for processing. Air India Express will process the visa request only once the flight ticket is confirmed.
